The Valley Ho is offering our group significant discount on their room rates. Signature rooms are available at a cost of $189/night. This discount can be accessed merely by calling the hotel to make reservations, and by referencing the SHS 1977 Reunion. The Valley Ho can be reached at 480-248-2000 or at 866-882-4484.

Due to this year’s summer being posed to surpass all previous records, and become the hottest summer EVER in Phoenix history, we have decided to utilize our alternate Valley Ho site which is located indoors.

Although many of us are sorry not to have the view of the skyline rooftop location, we feel that air conditioning may be a greater need for that evening.

The reunion is now only one month away!!

Many of you who indicated an interest, still have not purchased your tickets!!!

In order to have the caterer completely informed, we are asking that ALL tickets be purchased by Sept. 15, 2007. Purchase information can be found on classmates or at the website at Sunnyslope1977.org

We are also still asking you to scan and send in pictures that you wish to have included in the presentation and mini valhalla

The Reunion Committee is requesting that everyone fill out this survey. They will be using this information for reunion activities as well as the reunion memory book.

Many thanks to the large number of you who sent in your funds for tickets in the last two weeks!!!

As promised, ticket prices are going up.

Due to the great response to our plea to purchase your tickets, we will be able to continue to offer the tickets until August 1, 2007 with only a small increase in price. Tickets will now be priced at $70 per person.

Some exceptions may be made based on date of initial contact. In other words, if we didn’t find you until last week, you may still be qualified to purchase your tickets at the lower price.

We are still asking all grads to do the following:

Check the website on a regular basis for updates.

Check the MIA grad list to see if anyone is listed that you might know and have contact info for.

Send in your pictures for the reunion night presentation, high school pics, family, then and now, friends, events, whatever you think might be of interest. Please send to pp1elizabeth@aol.com or janr@ihotwire.com.

The reunion is coming together quite nicely with many thanks to all who have helped with the planning.

We’ve heard from 120 out of 450 people and are still looking for the other 75%.

We would like to announce that we have a location for this year’s reunion.

The main event will be held on September 29th, Saturday, at the Hotel Valley Ho. The hours for that evening will be 6:30 pm-10:30 pm and cost and instructions for ordering tickets to be announced soon. Rooms will also be available at the hotel for a discounted rate of $189/per night. Registration instructions will be available soon. A huge thanks to Mike Hess for his work in securing a fabulous location for what will be an extremely memorable event.

In addition, a family picnic, volleyball/softball game and events are planned for Saturday morning and afternoon, on site at the SHS campus. Food and beverages will be provided and the school has joined in to provide classmates and their families with a tour of the current campus. There will be no cost to attend this event. Just bring your families and your sunscreen!!! Lots of fun, food, music and recreation!!!! Again, specific time is to be announced. A special thanks to Nona Shoemaker for her “inside” the campus assistance on this, and to Dennis and Ann Mann for their work in organizing a great family event.

Friday night event will be a meet and greet at Aunt Chilada’s. This will be a non-hosted event and again, no charge to attend. Specific time is to be announced.   Thanks to Steve Hoshor and Wade Miller for their work in setting this up!!

Although some details such as costs and times remain to be determined, the events and locations are confirmed.

May 19th’s Planning Committee Meeting

Many thanks to those of you who joined us at this week’s planning meeting!!! It is great to see that so many are interested in helping to make this year’s reunion a great event. The response from networking and emailing 1977 grads has been phenomenal, but we still have a large number of alumni who are missing. Again, we encourage you to notify us of your email addresses and of the contact information for any of the graduates with whom you may still be in contact.

We are hoping to have an inital announcement out by the end of the month regarding the final plans for the reunion.

In addition, this website will be undergoing some major renovations in the next few days and weeks, and you are encouraged to check back for updates and to visit on a regular basis. The site will soon enable you to post a variety of types of information, and will assist the planners by providing an excellent communication tool, both through postings and through reverse emails to those who have provided their email contact information to any one of the Planners, or to the site itself. A special thanks goes out to Tom Perrine for making this possible!!!!
